There were better opportunities for day traders today. There was enough volatility in a few choice small, micro and nano cap stocks. Although there were no parabolic moves again today, there were a few stocks that had nice surges.
- Fuwei Films Co Ltd (FFHL)
FFHL NEWS: Earnings; Net Sales Rose
There was a 35% pre-market gap and a $2.00 move but the real surge happened after the open at 8:38 AM CST when FFHL began its surge from $6.20 to a high of $10.49.
After the big move, all small pops were sold into and the stock would never allow for another opportunity for day traders. Even in the after hours session, the stock continues to sell off another 0.50.
Closing price $6.56. There was 31 million shares traded; Float 3.27M.
- China Rapid Finance Ltd (XRF)
XRF NEWS: Earnings; A 207.82% Increase In The Previous Month
There wasn’t a gap up in the early morning hours and XRF didn’t start spiking at the open either. But rather, the stock started trending steadily from $2.61 at 8:41 AM CST. It was a nice relaxed move to the $3.95 level before a bit of a drastic pullback and a dip below VWAP before the move with a strong spike this time to a high of day @ $4.77.
Closing price $3.43. There was 23 million shares traded; Float 10.37M.

YTEN NEWS: None Noted
A move at 10:27 AM CST from $6.50 to a high of day @ $8.72. It was a beautiful $2.22 move inside of 15 minutes. This move didn’t put much fear into even the most skittish newbie day traders. Because, there wasn’t even a dip on the 1 minute chart to scare you out.
At 2:00 PM CST, there was another chance to bank 0.75 when YTEN begin to move over the half dollar area and then popped sharply over VWAP and the whole dollar of $8.00
Closing price $7.91. There was 2 million shares traded; Float 1.92M.
